Yahoo has released a security update for yahoo messenger 8.1 version for windows. You may recieve a prompt to install this latest security update. When you are prompted to do so, click on update now button to install it
Yahoo! recently identified a security issue, commonly referred to as a buffer overflow in an ActiveX control. This control is part of the Yahoo! Messenger audio conferencing code.
You must upgrade to newer version if
- You installed your yahoo messenger before 13th march, 2007
- You are experiencing some problems in logging in or logging out of the messenger
- You get involuntarily logged out of the yahoo chat or IM session.
